A bissal about BSVT
B’Nai Shalom v’Tikvah (BSVT) means The children of peace and hope. BSVT is a diverse congregation of Jewish people from various backgrounds. We have a strong Welcome to Judaism program as many of our members are in multi-faith relationships. BSVT is a member of Affirming Faiths of Durham which strives to welcome members of the LGBTQ2+ community. Our services use Mishkan T’Filah as a prayer book and includes many beautiful poems and readings along with the traditional prayers. We are a Reform synagogue and services are typically 2 hours long.
Membership includes High Holy Day tickets as well as inclusion in many of our social events and parties.
Our membership rates are some of the lowest in the GTA and we invite you to come and check us out a few times before you join. We think you will like it.
