FESTIVALS
The observance of the Festivals is an integral part of the life of a Jewish congregation. Each festival brings a unique opportunity for learning and celebration. Most events are Family friendly and encourage participation.
Please be sure to access our calendar of events to obtain Festival information or see below for an example of events for the year.
BSVT is a participatory synagogue. Everyone is welcome to come and participate, or just sit back and watch. Whatever appeals to you and your comfort zone. We will never guilt you into an Aliyah if you don’t want one.
JEWISH RITUAL SERVICES
If your family will be celebrating a particular life-cycle event (teen or adult Bar or Bat Mitzvah, baby naming, wedding, etc.) in the near future, please contact BSVT and let us help you prepare for your special event. We can offer advice and assistance on Jewish conversion as well.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Congregants of BSVT celebrate together throughout the year at social gathering such as Chanukah parties, Purim Carnivals, Shabbat across Canada, Second night Seders, family picnics and more. Our Congregants especially look forward to the Latke Challenge, Shabbat Shira, and our “Chai”, guest speaker series throughout the year.
FUNERALS
BSVT has a consecrated Jewish Cemetery located at Pine Ridge Memorial in Ajax, ON. We respect and accommodate personal wishes and Jewish traditions and obligations to provide for a meaningful burial service.
