Shabbat Together (Shabbat across Canada) Friday Dinner

Join us for a unique Virtual Community Dinner and a brief service in the comfort of your own home with your friends from BSVT.

DETAILS

1. Ron has created a short “ family friendly “ Erev Shabbat service.

2. THE SERVICE REQUIRES YOUR PARTICIPATION AND THEREFORE ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE SERVICE.

3. When you contact Ron to sign up you must indicate how you will be participating. Here are some of the suggestions:

• Offer to sing your favourite Shabbat song / prayer

• Offer to write a prayer for the service on a topic that is mutually agreeable

• Offer to present an item in the schmooze time before or after the service

• Offer to read a prayer from the service

• Make an offer of something for the service that you think is important

4. DEADLINE: You must contact Ron by Wednesday, June 24^th 10:00 p m EDT.

6. Optional; CHALLAH BAKING – There will be an opportunity for participants to display a challah that they have baked. ( No prizes just nachas!! ) ( Howard can email you a recipe if you need one. )

7. The first twelve congregants to sign up will receive special Shabbat candles.

8. ( I know Howard is too generous…don’t ask! )

9. Shmooze time begins at 6:30 p m EDT on June 26^th prior to the service

10. The service begins at 6:45 pm JST ( Jewish Standard Time )

11. Due to the long daylight hours the service will provide for candlelighting prior to sunset. However this is optional and congregants are certainly free to hold off on candlelighting until the prescribed time. ( Approx. 8:45 p m EDT )

12. Congregants will be encouraged to stay online and have their Shabbat meal while schmoozing. ( This will take place following the service at approximately

7: 45 p m JST. )
